Pandesal with Egg (egg-desal)

Pandesal is a staple bread in the Philippines most filipino household always have this as a side for breakfast which normally we dip it in coffee or milk or pair it with cheese spread.

In our town, in order for you to get fresh pandesal bread you have to wake up as early as 5 in the morning to buy bread. If you go past 6 am you probably get the leftovers already. :)

As far as I know bakeries in the Philippines make pandesal bread twice a day. Early morning and mid afternoon (3 pm). And most of the time it will sold out in less than an hour! That's how filipino loves pandesal. So if you want get that fresh bread mark this time or ask your local bakery.

OK! let's get down to my Egg-desal recipe. I made an open face egg sandwich using pandesal bread.

My mom use to make it for me for school "baon" :) Having this on breakfast gives me a nostalgic feeling on my childhood.


3 hard boiled eggs (crushed) 2 tbsp. pickle bits 2 tbsp. chopped parsley 2 tbsp. mayonnaise sandwich spread 4 tbsp. grated parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper for seasoning

TIP: If you want to make it extra special add your favorite cooked meat on the egg mixture like chopped longganisa, spam, or hotdog.
